Who is Fan-Topia?

You might be here on our blog trying to see who we are, and what we are about. So here it is! Over our years in business, we have known many creators – some small, some large. We found that while some large creators were able to profit off their content easily, some had a real struggle with making ends meet. They get to this “If I could put more time into it, I could make more money and quit my job, but I need my job to keep paying rent”. That’s where we wanted to try and help. A lot of creator platforms take a huge amount of the cut and claim it to be to cover credit card fees, server upkeep etc – but you don’t actually know where it goes! We aim to be as transparent as possible – and give as much to the creator as possible. We pay out 95% of received funds. Received funds is that amount after credit card fees – this isn’t something we can control, and you do have the option to pop that fee onto your subscription amount. We will constantly be searching for providers that allow a...

How to Entice Fans

One of the big mistakes we see some creators making, is locking all their content down, and not actually letting people know what content they are producing. Imagine if you were looking to subscribe, and you had seen someone post about their subscription for exclusive content. You think to yourself “Oh awesome, I can see/hear something others don’t!”. So you head on over and check it out. The subscription is $10/m, and there is no description of what you’re actually subscribing too – would you do it? Chances are the answer to this question is no. You want certainty on what you’re spending your money on! This is where a clear bio description comes in handy. You can let people know what they will be getting (and try say how often you will post as well) so they can justify spending that money. The other feature we offer for you as a creator, is you can make public posts – not locked to subscribers. So when someone new comes along, they can see a sample of your work, allowing them to becom...

How Can You Get Known?

To secure yourself a decent income, you need to be known. A lot of people have the view that if you’re online, you’re going to be found. Unfortunately it’s one of the reasons a lot of businesses fail. The internet is massive. Huge. Gigantic. It’s like having an unmarked shop, down multiple allies, with no signs and the lights off. You need to let people know you’re there! 1. Market Yourself This is a biggy, and can be done easily. Some creators will have to market themselves differently depending on the type of content they produce, but the basics stay the same. Give people a reason to check you out. Put up a teaser, a short clip, a few photos or some art you have done. 2. What Type of Marketing Is Right for You? There are a few avenues you can go down. Free and paid. So, Let’s tackle the free one first shall we? Bet that’s the one you want! Free marketing; Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok. All of these are great avenues. Now, while it doesn’t cost you money, t...

Fans – What, who, how?

Fans, the life-blood of creators. Without fans, yes you may still create, but outside of yourself, who else would be there too appreciate it? Plus, without fans, how could you make an income from your content? So, who are your fans, how can you find them? Big question – but simple. Your fans are potentially anyone that breathes. Yes, that is over simplified, but it is true! Whether you’re a model, artist, comedian, musician – no matter the type of content you produce, there is guaranteed to be someone out there, or a group of people that like it! As long as you like it, don’t just produce rubbish – but, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure! What do you give them? How to keep them? Authentic content. Made with passion and energy. No one wants to subscribe to something that is going to make them feel bad (OK, there are those people out there too, feel free to cater to them, we don’t judge!) so produce content that makes them happy, feel alive, energized, turned on – whatever p...

5 Helpful Tips to Getting Started

One of the hardest things when it comes to selling your content and creations is getting started. How do you get fans and subscribers when you don’t have too much content? Fear not, here are some simple steps you can follow in order to get subscribers, and get an income stream coming in. 1. Create Content This might seem like a no brainer – but it’s true. The best thing to do first up is create some content and get it uploaded. If a potential fan comes along and they see little or no content, they aren’t as likely to subscribe. 2. Create Some Teaser Content As you will see when you go to post, you can either set it to your fans, or general public. We recommend you have some content that you have showing for the public – this means they can come along, discover you and see/hear some of your content – which in turn will make them wish to sign up. 3. Set Your Subscription Level Right One thing we see a lot of is people charging a very high subscription value when they are just starti...
